Tips for Moms Starting a Home Based Business
Congratulations on deciding to work from home. There are a few tips that will help make your home-based small business succeed.
First off, set a time to meet with your immediate family. All of you need to be present to discuss what is going to happen and how everything will work to run smoothly. Let each person tell you of his/her concerns about you working from home. Answer any questions your family may have.
Let your family know your work schedule. You may want to get your work done when your husband is at work and all of your children are at school. If your children are too young for school, you may have to work when your kids nap. When your husband comes home he may have to watch the children so you can work. Once the kids are in bed you can finish working. Since you work from home you have the freedom of creating your own schedule.
Lastly make sure everyone in the household knows what their job is. For instance, if you have older children one may have to set the table, one may have to do dishes and your husband may have to help with cooking dinner.
If clients come over for business meetings you will have to have a plan on where your children will be. Will they leave the home and go to a babysitter? Will your husband watch them in the downstairs recreational room?
All of the above items are extremely important when starting up your own home-based business. If you make the rules right from the beginning you will have an easier time succeeding.
